In-person psychological therapy and remote academic support
Frequently Asked Questions
I offer academic support to individual adults on courses relating to counselling psychology, psychology, and psychological therapies. I specialise in supporting trainees completing doctorates in counselling psychology.
I’m unable to work with students on the DPsych Counselling Psychology at City St George’s, University of London, due to my role as a Visiting Lecturer on that programme.
I can support you at every stage of planning and completing an assignment or research project up to doctoral level. I specialise in supporting qualitative doctoral research in counselling psychology, especially constructivist grounded theory research.
I offer support via Zoom meetings, email, and written comments on your work.
I don’t provide proofreading, copy-editing or ghost-writing services. However, I can comment on the quality of your writing and its adherence to APA-7 Style.
Qualitative research using constructivist grounded theory (CGT), interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA), reflexive thematic analysis (RTA), and thematic analysis (TA)
Viva preparation, including offering mock vivas
Literature reviews
Clinical assignments (e.g., case studies and process reports) drawing on person-centred, CBT, psychodynamic, and existential-phenomenological modalities

I don’t offer clinical supervision. However, I can support you with assignments relating to clinical work, including case studies and process reports.
Online meetings are offered, subject to availability, on:
Monday-Wednesday: 8:30am-3:00pm
Thursday: 9:00am-3:00pm
Friday: 8:30am–12:00pm
I don’t offer evening or weekend meetings.
Online meetings:
£85 for 50 minutes (or part thereof)
Written feedback / email consultation / preparatory reading:
£90 per hour (charged to the nearest minute, at £1.50 per minute)
Mock vivas:
£125 for a 90 minute mock viva plus preparatory reading charged as above.
As a guide, every 1,000 words typically takes me:
3-5 minutes to read
5-10 minutes to read and prepare questions on

If you’re working to a budget, please let me know in advance so we can agree how best to proceed.
Payment is by bank transfer.
Meetings are payable in advance (by 4pm the day before)
Written work is payable within five working days of receipt
Work is completed on a first-come, first-served basis. I’ll provide an estimated completion date on receipt of your work.
Cancellations
If you cancel a meeting with at least 48 hours’ notice from the meeting start time, there’s no fee to pay. If you cancel with less than 48 hours’ notice, the full fee (£85) is payable.
Rescheduling
If you need to reschedule a meeting, please give at least one week’s notice. Later requests to reschedule can’t be accommodated and are therefore treated as cancellations, as above.
